Wait - dont throw that bread clip out!

  • All contributors to the Bread Clip Challenge will be named on the Future Oceans Website, with photos of the finished garments!

Bread clips will be accepted for this project only until December 31, 2022. Bread clips received by this date will be used in a Future Oceans International wearable art piece!

  • Decorate your bread clips however you want with paint, gems, collage or any other finishing technique you would like. Please keep all of your clips in the same colour scheme or palette. Your unique bread clip collection will be used in a Future Oceans wearable art piece, and you will be able to visibly see your clips in the final work of art!

You can sign your bread clip with your initials by scratching/engraving them into the clip with a nail, or pointy object. Engraving is the only way to ensure that your initials will still be visible in the future! If they are stamped or drawn on, they will not be visible. That's ok too! Bread clips that are shipped without any decoration will also be used but may be altered by the artist.

Be a part of Future Oceans International by joining the Bread Clip Challenge! How many plastic bread clips can you help us save from the landfill?

Did you know that bread tags are recyclable? They are made of high impact polystyrene (Type 6 PS Plastic) which is denser than many other types of plastic, making them compact and easy to recycle.

Students who submit envelopes of 100 clips or more will be named as contributors to the project!
